We’ll admit that we’re overloaded with digital streaming content.
We’ve got subscriptions to Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and HBO Now, so when we sit down to watch TV, we spend most of our time flipping through hundreds of shows, completely paralyzed by our own indecisiveness.

Sure, maybe you’ve gone through five consecutive bowls of popcorn, but at least you know how a Wankel rotary engine works. That has to count for something, right?
2. The selection is pretty much insane.
The service has plenty of TV documentaries from high-quality sources like the BBC, but you’ll also find full-length flicks, web shorts, and everything in between.
We found the quality of the streams to be exceptional, and in our time on the site, we didn’t find any poorly-researched or exploitational documentaries. That’s more than we can say for the documentary selection on Netflix.
3. The curated documentary collections are…well, actually curated.
If you have trouble finding something worth watching, CuriosityStream’s curated collections will save you a ton of time. Each collection consists of hand-picked documentaries, chosen by experts and organized with an easy-to-use interface.
This isn’t the first streaming site to use “curated collections” as a selling point, but we actually found ourselves using CuriosityStream’s curation features on a fairly regular basis.
4. Good luck finding a similar value for less than $3.
With $3, you can barely afford a meal at a fast food restaurant (although after watching Obesity and Fast Food on CuriosityStream, we’re not sure that’s a good idea). You can’t get anything good for that amount of cash.

CuriosityStream starts at $2.99 per month, so a pretty paltry sum of money will get you an incredible amount of entertainment (or edu-tainment, if you want to use an absolutely terrible word). There’s a caveat, of course: You’ll have to pay extra if you want HD- or 4K- quality content, but if you’re just in it for basic, TV-quality documentaries, you don’t have to pay more than $3.
