Bred in Rock Hill, South Carolina by Ed Currie, the Carolina Reaper is the world’s hottest pepper, according to The Guinness Book of World Records, and has been since 2013. It is a crossbreed between a ghost pepper and a red habanero. Formerly, the ghost pepper was the world’s hottest pepper. The Carolina Reaper is a chili pepper of the Capsicum chinense species. It’s really, really, really hot.
YouTube user Pikachu The Pokemon greets us by telling us that his going to eat a whole Carolina Reaper and letting us know that he’s only nine years old. He begins by putting the entire pepper in his mouth and everything is fine for the first couple of chews. Then, he gets a panicked look on face and takes a drink of milk. The panic increases as he realized the milk isn’t helping and his mouth and throat is burning.
Video of kid eating Carolina Reaper
Here you can watch the entire video of the kid eating the pepper and his panic as he realizes exactly how hot the world’s hottest pepper really is. He’s talking to what seems to be an adult off camera as his mouth is on fire. One has to wonder what sort of adult allows a child to eat a pepper like that for fun. The end of the video shows the kid rushing off, likely in pursuit of more milk.
In this follow-up video, the kid talks about how it felt to eat the pepper. He said that after he turned off the camera, his mouth and throat were burning and then later his stomach was burning like “Satan was burning” him with fire. He describes his experience very in-depth, as only a 9-year-old boy could do. You can understand the entire experience of eating a pepper without actually doing so, thanks to this kid.
