San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills has been known to be a pretty good perimeter defender. In fact, if he wasn’t he would never see playing time from a coach like Gregg Popovich who prides his teams on being defensive juggernauts. However, in last night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers Mills found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As Clippers point guard Chris Paul advanced the ball up the right wing late in the first quarter; Mills jumped out to the perimeter to stop the ball, and it all went downhill from there. Paul reacted by giving a quick in-and-out move before going between his legs and into the lane for a runner that dropped in for two. Mills on the other hand, found himself sliding backwards, unable to recover from the move. Poor Patty.
