There’s just something about a penthouse that screams “luxury.” For billionaires, owning the finest penthouses in the finest buildings in the most exclusive cities is a hallmark of wealth.

Here are some of the most expensive apartments in the world. If money is no object to you, here are some apartments for you to consider.

5. CitySpire Penthouse, New York – $100 Million

This 8,000-square-foot octagon-shaped penthouse boasts six bedrooms and nine bathrooms in Midtown Manhattan. The price tag reflects its exclusive location, just blocks from Central Park, Carnegie Hall, and other New York City landmarks.

The interior design is meant to be reminiscent of a Roman villa right in the heart of the city.

4. House No 1, The Peak, Hong Kong – $102 Million

Don’t let the unimaginative name fool you — this property is anything but boring. It features a private swimming pool, Jacuzzi, garden, and rooftop terrace that offers some really gorgeous views of Victoria Bay and the surrounding mountains.

At only 4,661 square feet, it’s on the smaller side for a luxury apartment. But the amenities and the view more than make up for the relative lack of space.

3. Ritz-Carlton Penthouse, New York – $118 Million

At the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, there’s a penthouse that’s actually three apartments in one. And if you’re looking for bragging rights, it’s also the most expensive apartment in all of New York.

The unit has a total area of 15,434 square-feet, with an additional 2,193 square-feet of terrace. That terrace offers breathtaking views of lower Manhattan and New York Harbor. The interior offers panoramic views of the city through its 400 feet of windows.

An updated listing from 2019 does show this penthouse going for less than half of it’s original price. You could snatch up this apartment for only $49 million.

2. Penthouse D, One Hyde Park, London – $237 Million

This penthouse is the most expensive apartment in the most expensive residential building ever built. Costing $2 billion, One Hyde Park is located right in the heart of London, making it one of the most attractive pieces of property in the world.

While a quarter of a billion dollars might sound like an impossible sum of money, that was the sale price of this penthouse to an unnamed Eastern European billionaire. Amazingly, the penthouse didn’t even come with furnishings, flooring, or even internal walls. Still, the prime location made this property worth the money, at least to one incredibly wealthy buyer.

An updated listing shows a big drop of this property as well. Once over $200 million dollars, One Hyde Park is currently going for only $5.5 million.

1. Odeon Tower Penthouse, Monaco – $387 Million

Monaco is one of the most expensive cities in the world, so it’s not surprising that it tops the list for most expensive apartments in the world. This penthouse is located in the Odeon Tower, one of the tallest buildings in all of Europe. With five levels, it offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea no matter where you may be in the unit.

Those five stories contain more than 33,000 square feet of living space. Some amenities in the unit include a gym, sauna, cinema, library, whisky bar, and billiard room. The terrace also contains a water slide and infinity pool, where guests can enjoy unparalleled views of the city. If you’ve got $400 million burning a hole in your pocket, this penthouse could be yours.
