Remember That’s So Raven? Of course you do.
It’s arguably the best Disney sitcom featuring a psychic teenager, or at least it ranks in the top three.
The show is receiving a reboot, premiering on July 21, which will feature Raven Baxter and Chelsea Daniels as divorced mothers living under a single roof. Titled Raven’s Home, it seems fairly interesting, so we decided it’s a good time to look at the actors from the original series. Here’s what we found:
Raven-Symoné played Raven Baxter.
After the original show concluded in 2007, Raven-Symoné played a number of minor roles before returning to TV as Georgia Chamberlain in State of Georgia. She also appeared on Black-ish, which was well received critically, and Empire.
More recently, she appeared on The View as a co-host. However, she’ll be returning to Disney Channel to reprise her role as Raven Baxter, and it’s a good thing—we’re not psychics, but we couldn’t imagine anyone else pulling it off.
Orlando Brown played Eddie Thomas.
Brown played another major sitcom role before That’s So Raven. He played the part of 3J in Family Matters and Nelson on The Jamie Foxx Show.
After releasing an album in 2006, Brown split his time between music and TV. He had a minor part in Straight Outta Compton in 2015, and he’ll appear in a project called Bloody Hands sometime in 2017.
Kyle Massey played Cory Baxter.
The mischievous Cory was a hit with audiences, so it wasn’t a surprise when Disney announced in 2007 that there would be a That’s So Raven spin-off titled Cory in the House. It ran for two years before coming to an end.
Since then, Massey has picked up a few decent roles, including the part of Mackey in Gotham. He’ll appear in a project called Ripped, which is currently filming. As of now, no one has announced if Massey will be part of the Raven’s Home cast or not.
Anneliese van der Pol played Chelsea Daniels.
The Dutch-American actress was a model and dancer before playing Chelsea on That’s So Raven. When the show ended, van der Pol appeared in Vampires Suck, a spoof film that was panned by critics; the movie still did fairly well at the box office, bringing in $80 million on a $20 million budget.
She also had a successful run on Broadway, appearing in Vanities, A Musical while gradually developing a solid resume as a theater actress. She’s currently performing in a play called A Taste of Things to Come, but she’s also reprising the role of Chelsea on Raven’s Home.
Rondell Sheridan played Victor Baxter.
Raven’s goofy father was one of the best parts of the original show, so we hope Rondell makes a guest appearance on Raven’s Home.
However, we’re not holding our breath; according to IMDb, his last performance was in 2012, so it’s possible that Sheridan’s taking time away from his acting career.
