Pee Wee Kirkland is widely recognized as one of the greatest street basketball player to ever hit the blacktop. A Harlem, New York native Kirkland is a Rucker Park legend, being the only player to ever lead the Rucker League in scoring in consecutive seasons. However, Kirkland also led a life of crime having been tied to several criminal activities such as drug dealing, money laundering, jewelry thefts, and tax evasion. In fact, Kirkland is known for having turned down a contract to play with the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association because the street life was more lucrative. DJ Vlad caught up with the street ball legend to discuss how he balanced a life of basketball superstardom and crime.
