Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have reportedly broken up after two years together, according to a report from TMZ. The outlet says the couple, who share their daughter Stormi, are “both single” and are “walking away from their relationship.”
According to TMZ’s sources, Kylie and Travis haven’t been seen together publicly since Aug. 27, when his Netflix documentary Look Mom, I Can Fly premiered in Santa Monica.

The source also claims that the couple has “been trying to make the relationship work for a while,” and that they decided to break up a few weeks back. Sources claim that this isn’t the first time the pair has broken up, but in the past they have always “managed to work it out.” Whether they can find their way back to each other this time (fingers crossed!) or not, “they’ll continue to co-parent, and will keep Stormi as their number 1 priority.”
Interestingly, they haven’t cut all ties. “Kylie and Travis aren’t officially calling it quits on their relationship, but are taking space apart,” a source told E! News. “It’s not a firm split. They’ve been fighting again, but have still seen each other within this last month.”
“They fight over ridiculous things and Kylie can be very skeptical about Travis,” the insider continued. “Travis has been stressed with dropping new music.”
According to the source, the two felt it was best for them to stay in separate places to let things cool down. “Travis has been staying at his house in Beverly Hills and Kylie has been allowing him to see Stormi,” the source said. “She would never take that away from him.”
Moving On With Tyga?
The story of this split took a turn, though, when Kylie met up with her ex, rapper Tyga, shortly after the news of the breakup hit the internet. Kylie and Tyga broke up in 2017, right before she started dating Travis. A source told E! News that the former couple hung out around 2 a.m. on Oct. 2. Kylie and two of her friends, Stassie Karanikolaou and Kelsey Calemine, were already out enjoying a late night snack at the West Hollywood hot spot Delilah.
“Kylie wanted to have a girls’ night out last night and Stassie thought it would be best to get her out of the house and her mind off the news,” the source explained to E! News. After finishing up at Delilah, the girls headed to a hotel to meet up with Tyga. “He was with a few of their mutual friends at Sunset Marquis and invited Kylie and her girlfriends to come hangout, since they were already out.”
The insider also noted that while Kylie and Tyga “have been in touch” since their split, they “don’t talk often.”
Even though the pair hung out in a group setting, this news did raise eyebrows, given that this meetup was at a hotel late at night right after Kylie’s breakup was announced. However, E! News’ insider claimed that nothing romantic was going on between Kylie and Tyga and that she didn’t mean to hurt Travis by hanging out with her ex. The insider also pointed out that Hollywood is a small town, and Kylie’s inner “circle is small and her girlfriends know a few of Tyga’s friends as well.”
The internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is. There was no “2am date with Tyga”. You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at.

Time will tell if this is only a one-time meetup or if Kylie is rebounding with her ex.
Billion Dollar Baby
This news comes as something of a shock to close followers of the pair. Less than a week earlier, pregnancy rumors started to spread when Kylie was hospitalized due to “flu-like symptoms.” She had complained about being ill on social media in the days prior, posting pictures from bed.
A representative for the makeup mogul told BuzzFeed News that she was “doing well under doctor’s care” after checking into the hospital, but the rep didn’t confirm what had put her there or address reports that Kylie had been experiencing “nausea and dizziness.”
However, a few days later, seemingly fully recovered and back home, Kylie responded to pregnancy rumors by posting videos of her body with no sign of a baby bump.
The Instagram story was captioned: “OK my body is really pulling the f*** through these days.”
“I Want Another Baby”
Even though a mysterious illness isn’t much proof of a pregnancy, those rumors didn’t come completely out of the blue. For a while it seemed like another baby could be in the pair’s near future. In fact, the reality star sent fans into a frenzy when she captioned a picture of the couple “baby #2?” back in February.
And the evidence goes back even further than that. In October 2018, Kylie did a Snapchat Q&A about motherhood, and she talked about her plans for more children.
“Am I going to have another baby? I want another baby,” she said. “I don’t know when it will be, but when I do, I’d love to share more of that with you guys.”
Those plans seemed to intensify back in August when a source shared with E! News that Kylie and Travis were talking about expanding their family.
“Kylie calls Travis her ‘husband’ but they haven’t talked about formally getting married,” the insider said. “If anything, they talk more about having baby number two—which they are hoping for next year.”
However, since their relationship has grown rocky, it seems another baby isn’t part of their plan any time soon.
Flying Solo
Even though we consistently got a lot of cute, family-focused content from the pair, there were also signs that not all was well before the breakup was announced. Contrary to some reports, Travis was not with Kylie at Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s wedding on Sept. 30, and according to an insider for E! News, Kylie seemed to be enjoying herself without him.
“Kylie had a glass of champagne in her hand and was dancing with Stormi on the dance floor at one point,” the source shared. “Kris [Jenner] was holding her a lot of the night. Kylie also had a cocktail drink at her table in front of her.”
This is a stark contrast to Kylie’s over-the-top birthday celebrations less than two months prior. The couple joined their friends and family to celebrate Kylie turning 22 with a lavish yacht trip to Italy, and Travis and Kylie seemed like they couldn’t be happier. For her birthday, Travis went all out and gifted Kylie a custom-made diamond-encrusted chain pendant by Eliantte that bared the Kylie Cosmetics logo.
“Happy Bday Wifey,” he shared on Instagram. “Everyday I watch u grow more into this amazing superhuman everyday is the best the day with u here may God continue shine on you. Happy fcking Bday love ya !!!”
Cheating?
In spite of these extravagant vacations and expensive gifts, the signs of the couple being a little shaky go pretty far back. In December 2018, a photo seeming to show Travis on a balcony intimately embracing a mystery woman circulated through the internet, but Travis firmly shut down those cheating rumors. He responded on Instagram that he “don’t be on balcony wit no thots” and said, “Me and my wifey sturdy.”
A week later, the whole thing was revealed to be a hoax. YouTuber Christian Adam came forward, admitting in a video that he’d staged the balcony picture in an attempt to fool the internet.
Although that stunt didn’t seem to phase the couple too much, they went through another rough patch in late February, when Kylie thought Travis was cheating for real this time. According to TMZ, Kylie had discovered “evidence” that he had cheated on her, and a major argument erupted. Travis then postponed the Buffalo, New York, stop of his Astroworld tour, supposedly due to illness, but sources claimed it was really because he needed to stay in Los Angeles to work things out with Kylie.

However, Travis has always denied this story. “Travis Scott vehemently denies he cheated on Kylie,” one of his representatives told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “It is not true. He did not cheat. He cancelled one show tonight because he is under the weather.”
They ended up working it out, and they seemed to come out the other side stronger than ever.
Best Friends
Even though fights between the two have been pretty common over the course of their two-year relationship (Kylie said in a 2018 GQ interview that their fighting was “normal” and that they tend to fight when they’ve spent too much time apart), this more serious separation was predicted by certain observant fans. Last month, rumors started circulating that the couple had broken up after eagle-eyed fans noticed a photo of the rapper that had once been in Kylie’s closet was no longer there.
Meanwhile, the last photo Kylie posted of Travis on Instagram was on Sept. 10. The image was from their Playboy shoot, for which Travis served as creative director and conducted the accompanying interview. Kylie said some pretty sweet things about Travis in that interview, and looking back on it is pretty bittersweet in light of their recent separation.
“I never thought that I would pose for Playboy, but I love the new covers,” she told Travis. “I love what Playboy is doing right now creatively, and when you presented me with the idea—that you would be behind the cover and creative direction and be in control of the images—I thought it was a perfect fit, because I trust you and your vision.”
In the interview, Kylie also called Travis her “best friend.”
“We think the same and we have the same goals and passions in life,” she continued. “Besides the fact that we have good chemistry, we have a lot of fun together. …Through all the ups and downs that every relationship has, we evolve together through them and keep getting stronger.”

Ride Or Die
Beyond those quotes from Playboy, the couple has had a lot of sweet moments over the years. Kylie and Travis first began dating in 2017 after they met at Coachella, where Travis was performing.

“So he said, ‘I’m going back on tour—what do we want to do about this?’ Because we obviously liked each other,” Kylie told GQ of their early days. “And I was like, ‘I guess I’m going with you.’”
“I really jumped on the bus,” she continued. “And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him.”
Travis also spoke well of the beginning of their relationship.
“We was just two kids, f***ing around. Maybe, like, the first week, you don’t know if it’s real or a fling. Then the second week you’re like, ‘Whoa, I’m still talking to her, she’s responding, I’m responding. We ain’t run out of a thing to say,’” he told Rolling Stone. “And it got to a point where I was like, ‘I need her with me to operate. She’s that one.’”
In that same 2018 Rolling Stone interview, he also said that he wanted to marry Kylie. He called Kylie the “coolest motherf***er of all time” and said, “We’ll get married soon. I just gotta sturdy up—I gotta propose in a fire way.”
The couple’s daughter, Stormi, was born on Feb. 1, 2018—less than a year after they started dating. They celebrated her arrival in a video that now has 86.6 million views.
As of now, Kylie and Travis are still following each other on Instagram, and neither of them have spoken out about the reported breakup. Since it’s been reported that they are still putting their daughter first and that their separation isn’t an official split, we’re still holding out a little hope that they might make up in the near future.
