Sam Neill played Dr. Alan Grant.
You have to love the way Neill’s character Dr. Grant scared the bejeebers out of the little kid with the fossilized raptor claw at the beginning of the movie.
Since then, Neill has been pretty busy. He played Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in Showtime‘s The Tudors in 2007 and Inspector Chester Campbell in BBC Two‘s Peaky Blinders in 2014. Look for Neill to make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok, set to come out in November 2017.

Laura Dern portrayed Ellie Sattler.
Dern grossed out all of the Jurassic Park viewers when she shoved her arms into the giant pile of triceratops poop.
This prolific actress has had an incredible career and shows no signs of slowing down. She starred in HBO‘s Big Little Lies as power mom Renata Klein. You can also look for her in two highly anticipated programs later this year.
First, she’s set to appear in the revival and continuation of the 1990s cult classic TV show, Twin Peaks, where she’ll have a “top-secret pivotal role,” according to the Twin Peaks wiki. Dern will also appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.
Jeff Goldblum was Dr. Ian Malcolm.

Goldblum has gone on to star in a number of roles and is set to rejoin Sam Neill on the screen in Thor: Ragnarok. Goldblum’s role is not as secretive as Neill’s — he’s set to play the part of The Grandmaster.
Look for Goldblum to return to the “Jurassic” franchise in next summer’s Jurassic World 2.
Samuel L. Jackson took on the role of Ray Arnold.
“Hold onto your butts!” is one of the tamer lines Jackson has recited on screen.
Over Jackson’s career, which includes the Star Wars and Avengers franchises, his films have grossed over $5 billion, making him the highest ranked box-office star of all time.
Jackson’s career is still on a roll, and he’s set to reprise his role as Director Nick Fury in two forthcoming Avengers films. In 2019, Jackson will reprise another great role, that of Elijah Prince/Mr. Glass in a follow-up to the M. Night Shyamalan hit Unbreakable.
Ariana Richards played Lex Murphy.
Then just 13 years old, Richards got to deliver the fantastic line, “I am not a computer nerd. I prefer to be called a hacker!
After acting as a child, Richards went on to study fine art and has, according to her website, “been mentored by some of the finest names in Contemporary Impressionist art.”
The talented artists generally paints on commission for individuals, although she sometimes does put together exhibitions.
Joseph Mazzello was adorable as Tim Murphy.
“What do you call a blind dinosaur?” Mazzello’s character, Tim, joked with Dr. Grant. “A Do-you-think-he-saurus.”
Mazzello has not been extremely active as an adult actor, although he did appear in 2010’s The Social Network, playing Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz.
Mazzello also wrote, directed, co-produced, and starred in the 2016 film Undrafted, which is a fictional retelling of his brother’s experience getting passed over as a Major League Baseball prospect.
