Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest stars on the planet. From starring in blockbuster movies to hosting “The Celebrity Apprentice” to being elected governor of California, he’s one of the most recognizable faces in the world (even if he does have one of the toughest names to spell). But if you ask him, his greatest accomplishments are his five children. These kids are all successful in their own way, but all bear an amazing resemblance to their father.
Arnold was born in 1947 in a small town in Austria. Growing up, his father actually showed a strong preference for his older brother Meinhard, because his father suspected (incorrectly) that Arnold was not his biological child. Money was tight in his household; Arnold says that one of the highlights of his youth was when his family finally bought a refrigerator.
He began weight training at age 14. He immediately took to this training and began entering competitions. By the time he was 18, he was competing in the Mr. Universe competition and achieving worldwide acclaim for his physique. When he turned 21, a long time dream of his came true: he moved to the United States.
While his bodybuilding and acting career was on the rise, he married Maria Shriver in 1986. They would go on to have four children. Their oldest child is Katherine Schwarzenegger, born in 1989.
She is an author and a blogger, focusing on self-help and happiness issues. She dealt with depression and a negative body image and now works to help young people going through similar issues.
Their second child, Christina, was born in 1991. She graduated from Georgetown in 2013 and is believed to be pursuing a career in the media.
Patrick was the third child for this couple, born in 1993. He has worked as a professional model, modelling for such brands as Armani and Ralph Lauren.
The fourth child born to Maria and Arnold is their son Christopher, born in 1997. Christopher recently started college and is quickly becoming an adult. Of all the children, he is by far the most private.
One thing is for sure: Arnold must have some strong genes because all of these children look just like him. What a great looking group of kids!
