Looking for something to binge?
Netflix’s June lineup has been released, and while it isn’t completely packed, there are some interesting titles to look forward to.
Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket is an enthralling war movie that everyone should see at least once, and The Sixth Sense is still M. Night Shyamalan’s best film. Both hit the streaming service on June 1st.
Kids will appreciate the addition of Dreamworks’ Trolls, a surprisingly dark 2016 pic. Disney’s Moana will be available on June 20th, and if you’ve somehow missed this Polynesian adventure, you’ll want to block out some time.
Helen Mirren’s The Queen is certainly worth checking out, as it’s one of the legendary actress’s most compelling roles, even if you’re not especially interested in the Royal Family.
On June 9th, the fifth season of Orange Is the New Black hits Netflix, along with the first season of My Only Love Song, a South Korean historical drama. The third part of Netflix’s original sitcom The Ranch will show up on June 16th, and the first season of GLOW, a comedy about female wrestling starring Alison Brie, will be available on June 23rd.
Netflix will also introduce a psychological thriller series called Gypsy on June 30th. The show will follow “a therapist who develops dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients’ lives.” If it can avoid offending the Romani people, who generally don’t love the term “gypsy,” the premise should prove interesting.
