Although its name is not familiar to most people in the U.S., Kelowna, British Columbia, is the 22nd largest metropolitan area in Canada.

It sits on the shores of Okanagan Lake and is surrounded by protected forests, mountains, vineyards, and orchards.

In this serene setting is a nearly $8 million property that has a little bit of everything. The estate includes over 16 acres of land and borders Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park.

The house and its grounds provide spectacular views of Okanagan Lake.

You can take in the natural beauty from the infinity pool or take a dip in the glacial lake itself. The property includes a private swimming cove in the chilly lake.

The house was built in 2007, so all of its features are modern. The saltwater infinity pool has cascading jets and looks out onto the lake and the opposite shoreline. The pool area has a SunBrite television so you never have to miss your favorite program or sports team. Ample seating and a six-person hot tub complete the patio area.

Of course the inside is loaded with luxury as well.

Exposed beams sourced from local trees keep the sprawling house in harmony with the natural setting. The interior doors are eight feet tall and made from knotty alder. The house is filled with natural wood all the way down to the fir trim.

Everything about this mansion is spacious. The ceilings are 30 feet high, and massive windows provide unobstructed views of Okanagan Lake. With a second outdoor area above the pool patio, everyone can have privacy and still enjoy the view.

This 12,800-square-foot house takes a lot of energy to heat and cool, but it makes use of modern geothermal technology for improved efficiency.

It also uses solar panels, instant hot water tanks to cut down on wasted energy, and an Eneready heat recovery system.

The builders took pains to make this house fit into the natural landscape of the Okanagan Valley. Being nestled between the lake and the mountains provides abundant recreational activities in nature. There are the biking and hiking trails of the bordering park as well as swimming and boating activities on the lake.

If you want to stay on the property to play games, there are plenty of opportunities.

A tennis court doubles as a basketball court in the summer and triples as a hockey rink in the winter.

Other perks include a wine room complete with sitting space, barrels, and temperature-controlled wine storage.

This is the perfect place to relax after a day on the lake or the tennis court.
