Looking for somewhere royal to spend your holidays? Do you want a impenetrable fortress without all the upkeep?

We’ve got the perfect place for you. This 1830s-era castle in Warwickshire, England is up for sale, and while it’s not exactly cheap, at £550,000 ($170,000) it’s surprisingly affordable.

The tiny castle was originally a gatehouse for the nearby Weston Park Estate. Famed architect Edward Blore (who participated in completing Buckingham Palace) designed the gatehouse, which has since been transformed into a fully functional single-family home.

A gated driveway leads up to a smaller structure, which has several garages and a home office. From there a paved path leads to the castle’s glazed-oak door, which opens into the rear lobby.

The interior of the castle is surprisingly modern. A minimalist red and white kitchen offers ample space for preparing royal feasts. A modern oven and dishwasher have been added to make this kitchen fully functional.

One of the most striking aspects of the kitchen is the stone windows that look out onto the gardens. The estate was intended to be self-sufficient, so the grounds are filled with vegetable patches and fruit trees that you can see while you prepare the harvest.

The living room is quaint and cozy and features another stone mullion window. The brick fireplace has been fitted with a decorative Victorian cast iron fireplace to set the mood perfectly.

Gorgeous hardwood flooring and a rounded nook complete the space. As you’d expect in a tiny castle, this room is big enough for a family, but not a full-scale soiree.

Like all tiny houses, even this tiny castle must adhere to minimalist principles. The bedroom has just enough space for a bed, dressers, a chair, and a dressing table.

Exposed beams and fitted wardrobes show off the architectural prowess of designer Blore. Like most rooms in this castle, the best part of the bedroom is the magnificent views it affords.

Looking out on the tiny estate, the resident can feel like a lord or lady. Though the grounds are just 0.61 acres, they are packed with greenery.

The trees, shrubs, and bushes have all been planted to form distinct areas throughout the grounds. Seeing all of the vegetation that populates this estate, it’s hard to believe it sits on just a little more than half an acre.

An ornamental pond sits entrenched in hedges and honeysuckle, filling the area with a relaxing scent. Trees and shrubs surround the sitting area so that a panorama of green fills your view.

The property has an orchard with apple, pear, and plum trees to provide fresh food in the late summer and fall. There are also ample garden spaces. Raised bed patches, a chicken run, a greenhouse, and a garden shed make this outdoor space a hobby farmer’s dream.
