When you see a romantic moment between two characters on your favorite TV show, do you ever get the sense that they’re not acting?
If so, you could be right. Here are some of the small screen’s steamiest real-life couples from Roseanne to True Blood.
1. The ultimate power couple from “Saved by the Bell.”
Yes, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen, better-known as Zack and Kelly from TV’s wackiest high school, had an on-again/off-again thing that lasted all the way up to Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
More importantly, though, our source tells us this news comes straight from Dustin “Screech” Diamond’s autobiography—yes, Screech wrote an autobiography. We’ll wait while you cruise Amazon for a minute.
2. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.
Kunis and Kutcher played Jackie and Michael, respectively, on That ’70s Show. They didn’t actually hook up on set, though. Kutcher married Demi Moore, while Kunis had a high-profile relationship with Macaulay Culkin.
However, in 2012 the two finally got together. Five years later, they’re married with kids, and it’s exactly as adorable as you’d imagine.
“When my wife and I had these kids and we got to share that amazing, amazing, amazing honor,” Kutcher told Today. “My first response was, I wanted to call my parents and say, ‘I’m sorry, because I never knew how much you loved me.'”
3. Two of the teen stars of “Roseanne.”
Sara Gilbert (Darlene) and Johnny Galecki (David) played teenage sweethearts, and they ended up dating in real life.
However, during the romance, Gilbert realized that she was gay.
“I thought he was super cute and had a crush on him,” she told Today about her feelings on the show. “We started dating, and he would come over and we would, like, make out, and then I would start to get depressed.”
She eventually told Galecki about her feelings, and while he was disappointed at first, the two became friends. Eventually, they both joined the cast of The Big Bang Theory, and they remain close to this day. In fact, when Gilbert came out, she contacted Galecki before going public.
“I called him and I just said, ‘Is it okay—I’m thinking of talking about this,'” Gilbert said. “The story sort of starts with you. And I’ve got to say I made out with you and got depressed, which is kind of a bummer.”
4. Vampires in love.
You might remember Stephen Moyer from his starring role as Vampire Bill on HBO’s True Blood. If you do, then you certainly remember Anna Paquin playing Sookie Stackhouse, with her whole “will-they-or-won’t-they-oh-they-did-will-they-again?” thing with Bill.
Well now, these two are showing their love off in broad daylight, which is more than Vampire Bill could have done. The couple got married in 2016. Shortly after that, People caught up with Paquin to ask how the marriage was going.
“It’s great to have the freedom to enjoy your work and not feel like you’re leaving your other life behind,” Paquin said. “It’s a pretty sweet setup.” Also, they are a pretty sweet couple. You couldn’t have written these story lines for a TV show.
