The NCAA Tournament resumed Thursday night, as the Sweet 16 got underway. In the first game of the night, the Villanova Wildcats took on the Miami Hurricanes in Louisville, KY. With the ‘Canes trailing by 15 midway through the first half, Sheldon McClellan came through with a big play to spark Miami’s first half comeback. McClellan was matched up with Villanova’s Jalen Brunson in a one-on-one battle on the right wing. After one hard dribble to the baseline, McClellan pulled back for a nasty crossover that sent Brunson flying towards cheerleaders row. He capped the play off by burying a fall away three. Despite a monster 26-point effort from McClellan, it wasn’t quite enough as Miami fell to Villanova 92-69.
